NOTIFICATION
Consequent on the enhancement of the annual family income
ceiling limit of families of Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) from
` 24,000 to ` 75,000 as household income per annum for availing welfare
measures in the Union territory of Puducherry, issued in G.O. Ms.
No. 1/PRD/PF/2014, dated 8th September 2014 of the Planning and
Research Department, Puducherry, the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry
is pleased to approve the enhancement of the household income ceiling
limit in respect of the following schemes implemented by the Department
of Women and Child Development, Puducherry and for the said purpose
hereby makes the following further amendment to the said rules, namely:—

AMENDMENT
I. In the rules for the Grant of Financial Assistance under
the Kulavilakku Scheme, 2000, for sub-rule (ii) of rule 3 and wherever
applicable, the following shall be substituted, namely:—
(i) “3(ii) The beneficiary shall belong to a household, whose
annual income shall not exceed ` 75,000.”
II. In sub-rule (ii) of rule 3 of the Rules for the Grant of Financial
Assistance under the Aravanaippu Scheme, 2000, for the letters and
figures “Rs. 24,000” and wherever applicable, the symbol and figures
“` 75,000” shall be substituted.
III. In sub-rule (b) of rule 2 and in sub-rule (ii) of rule 4 of the
Rules for Grant of Marriage Allowance towards Marriage of Daughters
of Destitute Widows, for the letters and figures “Rs. 24,000” and
wherever applicable, the symbol and figures “` 75,000” shall be
substituted.
IV. In the Reimbursement of Tuition Fees for the Children of
Widows in Typewriting, Shorthand and Computer Rules, 1985, for
clause (b) of rule 2 and wherever applicable, the following shall be
substituted, namely:-
“(b) Widow means a woman, whose husband is dead and whose
annual income from all sources does not exceed Rupees seventy-five
thousand, subject to modification by Government from time
to time.”
V. In sub-rule (5) of rule 3 of the Incentive for Widow's Re-marriage
Rules, 1981, for the letters and figures “Rs. 24,000” and wherever
applicable, the symbol and figures “` 75,000” shall be substituted.
VI. In the Rules for the Grant of Financial Assistance for
Performance of Marriage of Poor Brides living Below Poverty Line, 2003
in the Union territory of Puducherry,—
(i) for clause (i) of rule 1, for the existing short title, the following
shall be substituted, namely:-
“These rules may be called the Rules for the Grant of Financial
Assistance for Performance of Marriage of Poor Brides living in
the Union territory of Puducherry.”

(ii) in sub-rule (iii) of rule 2 of the said rule, the words “in respect
of those living below poverty line” occurring after the words "by the
Government of Pondicherry" shall be omitted.
(iii) in sub-rule (ii) of rule 3 of the said rule, for the letters and
figures “Rs. 24,000” and wherever applicable the symbol and figures
“` 75,000” shall be substituted.
VII. In sub-rule (ii) of rule 4 of the Rules for the Grant of Incentive
to the Family having one girl/two girl children and the parents who have
undergone Family Planning, for the letters and figures, “Rs. 60,000” and
wherever applicable, the symbol and figures “` 75,000” shall be
substituted.
VIII. In the Rules for the Grant of Financial Assistance to Poor
Parents having only one girl child who is studying 8th to 10th Standard,
for sub-rule (i) of rule 4 and wherever applicable, the following shall be
substituted, namely:-
“(i) The annual income of the parents from all sources shall not
exceed ` 75,000.”
IX. In rules 3 and 4, and in Appendix I and II of the Puducherry
Old Age Persons and Destitute Pension Rules, 2011, for the letters and
figures “Rs. 24,000” wherever they occur, the symbol and figures
“` 75,000” shall be substituted.
4. This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Department,
vide their U.O. No. 3550/F5/A2, dated 27-2-2015.
5. The amendment shall be deemed to have come into force with
effect from 8-9-2014.
