ORDER
In the Memorandum No. A. 230151/2012/DP&AR/CC2,
dated 12-11-2014, the tentative seniority list of Drivers
(LMV) Grade-I who were promoted to the post of
Driver (LMV) Grade-I up to 1-10-2010, has been
circulated inviting objections, if any, to the seniority
proposed to be assigned to them.
2. The representations against the tentative seniority
list of Drivers (LMV) Grade-I, so received, from the
officials concerned were carefully examined and
objections with regard to fixation of seniority which are
not maintainable, are rejected.
3. Accordingly, the final seniority list of Drivers (LMV)
Grade-I shall be as indicated in the Annexure to this
Government Order.
4. In case, the individual is not working in the
department/office mentioned, this communication may
be transmitted to the department/office to which the
official has been transferred subsequently, under
intimation to this department.

ORDER
As per "The Government of Puducherry Casual Labourers (Engagement and Regularisation) Scheme, 2009"
notified vide G.O. Ms. No. 22, dated 27-2-2009 of the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (Personnel
Wing), Puducherry, all the departments in this administration have to prepare the draft list of full-time as well as
part-time casual labourers under engagement irrespective of the source of engagement on the date of notification
of the above scheme and thereafter such a list shall be finalised with the approval of the Lieutenant-Governor. But,
the final seniority list in respect of the full-time casual labourers engaged in the Puducherry Government Guest
House, Chennai had been issued vide Memorandum No. 69177/CS (Estt.)/PGGH-CH/2010, dated 31-5-2010 of the
Chief Secretariat (Estt.), Puducherry without obtaining the approval of the Lieutenant-Governor as required under
the above-mentioned scheme. In order to ratify the above procedural lapse, approval of the Lieutenant-Governor of
Puducherry is to be obtained for the issue of the final seniority list in respect of the full-time casual labourers of
the Puducherry Government Guest House, Chennai in terms of the scheme mentioned above.
2. Accordingly, in supersession of the Memorandum No. 69177/CS (Estt.)/PGGH-CH/2010, dated 31-5-2010
of the Chief Secretariat (Estt.), Puducherry, approval of the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry is hereby conveyed
for the final seniority list of full-time casual Labourers under engagement in the Puducherry Government Guest
House, Chennai, as indicated in the Annexure.

Whereas, the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry has
by notification vide G.O. Ms. No. 9/95/Lab., dated 7-4-1995
under sub-section (1) of section 52 of the Puducherry
Shops and Establishments Act, 1964 authorised the
Secretary to Government, Labour Department, Puducherry
to exercise the powers of the Government under
section 6 of the said Act relating to exemption;
And whereas, M/s. Thillai’s Food Park, 161, Church Street,
Karaikal has applied for grant of exemption from
section 14(1) of the said Act to run the shop on weekly
holidays since the shops is dealing with highly
perishable items in addition to the other products
catering to the daily needs of the public;

Now, therefore, considering the reasons stated, the
Secretary to Government, Labour Department in exercise
of the powers conferred by section 6 of the said Act,
hereby exempts M/s. Thillai’s Food Park, 161, Church
Street, Karaikal from the provisions of section 14(1) of
the Puducherry Shops and Establishments Act, 1964 for
a period of one year from the date of issue of this
notification subject to the following conditions:-
1. Every employee employed in the shop should be
allowed a weekly holiday with wages without fail on
a staggered weekly off basis.
2. No employee should be allowed to work
continuously for 7 days in a week.
3. The employer, on any account, should not seek
the service of an employee on his weekly off day.
4. The employer should display all the notices and
required documents should be shown to the
Inspectors during inspection.
5. In the event of any complaints regarding the
weekly holiday, the above exemption will be cancelled.
