ORDER

Whereas, the Government, in compliance of the

directions of the Supreme Court of India in its Judgment,

dated 16-11-1992 in the Mandal Commissions case and

also in pursuance of the decision of the Government

of India, has constituted a State Level Commission for

Backward Classes as a permanent body for entertaining,

examining and recommending upon requests for

inclusion and complaints of over inclusion and under

inclusion in the list of other Backward Classes of citizens,

in the G.O. Ms. No. 36/98/Wel-SW-II, dated 21-12-1998 of the

Chief Secretariat (Welfare), Puducherry, and has lastly

reconstituted the same with non-official members vide

G.O. Ms. No. 64/2012/Wel-SW-V, dated 31-5-2012 of the

Chief Secretariat (Welfare), Puducherry and G.O.Ms.

No. 4/2014/Wel-SWS, dated 10-10-2014 of the Social

Welfare Secretariat, Puducherry;

2. And whereas, the tenure of the Chairman and

other non-official members appointed to the said

Commission will expire on 30-5-2015 and a necessity has

therefore arisen to appoint a Chairman and non-official

members;

3. Now, therefore, the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry

is pleased to order that the tenure of existing Chairman

and non-official members appointed earlier as detailed

below to the said Commission vide G.O. Ms. No. 64/2012/

Wel-SW-V, dated 31-5-2012 of the Chief Secretariat

(Welfare), Puducherry and G.O. Ms. No. 4/2014/Wel-

SWS, dated 10-10-2014 of the Social Welfare Secretariat,

Puducherry, is extended for further period of three years

from 31-5-2015.

There will be a horizontal reservation of 10% for Ex-Servicemen; not exceeding 5% for

Meritorious Sports Person and 3% for Differently Abled Persons (PH) (Ortho). In case

sufficient number of eligible candidates are not available in these categories, the remaining

vacancies will be filled-up by general candidates.

(iii)

The selection will be made among the eligible candidates possessing knowledge of the

regional languages of Tamil, Malayalam or Telugu as the case may be, according to the

availability of vacancies in different regions of the Union Territory of Puducherry at the

time of selection.

2.

Pay Band + Grade Pay

. . Rs. 5,200 - 20,200 + Rs. 1,900 plus usual allowances as applicable

from time to time.

3.

Eligibility conditions—

(a) Age-limit

. . Between 18 and 32 years. (Cut off date for age will be 6-7-2015).

Relaxations

. . 3 years for M.B.C./O.B.C./E.B.C./B.C.M./B.T. and 5 years for S.C.

For Ex-Servicemen, D.A.P. and M.S.P. as per rules.

(b) Educational qualification

. . (1) A pass in S.S.L.C./Matriculation or its equivalent; and

(2) 2 years Craftsmanship Certificate in the Electrician/Wireman

Trade issued by the Ministry of Labour and Employment,

Government of India or its equivalent.

4.

Resident/Nativity

. . The candidates who are the natives of the Union Territory of

Puducherry by continuous residence in the Union Territory of

Puducherry for the last 5 years i.e. on the closing date for receipt of

duly filled-in application are eligible to apply for the post. They

should produce the required certificates issued by an officer of the

Department of Revenue and Disaster Management not below the

rank of Deputy Tahsildar.

The selection will be provisional subject to the production of nativity certificate, caste certificate,

educational and technical qualification certificates, etc. in original before the offer of appointment is issued.

6.

Candidates will have to produce all their certificates in original when called for separately for verification.

7. No original certificate should be sent along with the application.

8. Selection process :

(1) Percentage of marks obtained in the I.T.I. (Electrician/Wireman) final

9. The candidates should furnish any one of the following certificates as a proof of their residence:

(1)

Residence/Nativity Certificate issued within one year prior to 6-1-2015.

(2)

Service Certificate obtained from the respective Head of Office in respect of Government Servant/

Children/Spouse of State Government Servant.

10. Caste Certificate for S.C./M.B.C./O.B.C./E.B.C./B.T.M./B.T. obtained from the Revenue Authority not

below the rank of Deputy Tahsildar issued after 7-6-2014 in the prescribed form alone will be accepted. Application

with old certificate or combined certificate will not be considered against reserved vacancies.

11. Such of those applicants who are already in service should send their applications through proper

channel in advance so as to reach before the prescribed date and time.

12. Applications neatly typed out on a plain paper in the format given below should be filled-in, in all

respects, by the candidate should be accompanied by the following copies of the certificates duly self-attested:

(1) Birth Certificate/Board Certificate indicating date of birth;

(2) S.S.L.C./Matriculation Mark Sheet;

(3) 2 years Craftsmanship Certificate in Electrician/Wireman Trade issued by the Ministry of

Labour and Employment, Government of India or its equivalent;

(4) Residence/Nativity Certificate;

(5) Community Certificate, i.e. , S.C./M.B.C./O.B.C./E.B.C./B.C.M./B.T.;

(6) Category Certificate, i.e., Ex-Serviceman/M.S.P./D.A.P.; and

(7) Employment Exchange Registration Card duly renewed up to date.

13. The duly filled-in application in the prescribed form alongwith the attested copies of all required

certificates should reach the Office of the Officer on Special Duty, Electricity Department, Nethaji Subash Chandra

Bose Salai, Puducherry-605 001 on or before 6-7-2015 by 5.45 p.m.

14. The Superintending Engineer-I, Electricity Department, Puducherry reserves the right to enhance/reduce

the number of posts and also to cancel the recruitment process. No interim enquiries will be entertained.

15. Applications furnished without the required particulars/certificate or which are in incomplete shape or

those applications received after the due date will be summarily rejected and no further correspondence in this

regard will be entertained.

Sealed tenders offering the rate per kilogram are

invited for the purchase of the following old newspapers

in Tamil and English belonging to the Directorate of

Survey and Land Records, Kamaraj Salai, Puducherry.

2. Tenders in sealed covers superscribed with the

words “Tender for the purchase of old newspapers”

should be addressed to the Director, Directorate of

Survey and Land Records, II Floor, Revenue Complex,

Kamaraj Salai, Saram, Puducherry-605 013 so as to reach

this office on or before 22-6-2015 at 10.00 a.m. and the

tenders will be opened at 4.00 p.m. on the same day in

the presence of the tenderers, present.

3. If the above tender date is declared as a public

holiday by the Government, then the tender sale will be

conducted on the next working day of the above date

without any intimation.

4. The rate per kilogram should be quoted for Tamil

and English newspapers separately.

5. The intending tenderers can inspect the newspapers

during office hours on all working days between 4.00 p.m.

and 5.00 p.m. at the Directorate of Survey and Land

Records, II Floor, Revenue Complex, Kamaraj Salai,

Saram, Puducherry-605 013 with the permission of the

undersigned. The intending tenderers should deposit

an earnest money of ` 100 (Rupees one hundred only)

in cash alongwith the sealed tender. The earnest money

deposit collected from the unsuccessful tenderers will

be refunded immediately after the tender has been

selected.

6. The successful tenderer shall arrange to weigh the

old newspapers, pay the cost thereof alongwith applicable

sales tax and remove the old newspapers within 24 hours

from the time of the tender sale is over. On failure to

this arrangements, the earnest money deposit paid will

be forefeited. Also for the old newspapers which have

been disposed off after the due receipt or payment, this

department will not undertake any responsibility for any

loss or shortage or damage. On complete clearance the

earnest money deposit will be refunded.
