NOTIFICATION

The Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry is pleased to approve the

proposal for altering the word “eunuch” as “transgender” in the

“The Puducherry Old Age Persons and Destitutes Pension Rules, 2011”

and for the said purpose hereby makes further amendment to the said

rules notified vide G.O. Ms. No. 5/2015-WCD(W-IV), dated 21-5-2015 of

the Women and Child Development Secretariat, Puducherry and

published in the Gazette of Puducherry, Extraordinary, Part-II,

No. 40, dated 21st May 2015, as follows:—

Puducherry-9.

1. Short title and commencement.— (1) These rules may be called

“The Puducherry Old Age Persons and Destitutes Pension (Third

Amendment) Rules, 2015”.

AMENDMENT

1. Amendment of rule 3.— In the “Puducherry Old Age Persons

and Destitutes Pension Rules, 2011” (hereinafter referred as the

said rules) in clause (m) of rule 3, for the word “eunuch” wherever

appears, the word “transgender” shall be substituted.

2. Amendment of rule 4.— In the said rules, in clause (ii),

of sub-rule (1) of rule 4, for the word “eunuch”, the word

“transgender” shall be substituted.

3. Amendment of rule 5.— In the said rules, in clause (vii) of

sub-rule (4) of rule 5, for the word “eunuchs”, the word

“transgenders” shall be substituted.

4. Amendment of forms.— In the said rules, in Part-I and Part-III

of Form-I and Form-II (order of sanction of pension), for the word

“eunuch/eunuchs” wherever appears, the word “transgender/

transgenders” shall be substituted as the case may be.

2. This notification shall come into force on and from the date of

publication in the official gazette.

3. This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Department,

vide their U.O. No. 1805/F5/A2, dated 20-8-2015.
