NOTIFICATION

The Lieutenant-Governor of Puducherry is pleased to enhance the

quantum of award to meritorious blind students in the Union territory of

Puducherry and for the said purpose hereby makes further amendment

to the “Cash award to meritorious blind students obtaining first three

ranks at the State Level in the S.S.L.C. Examination, Rules, 2007”

(hereinafter referred to as the said rules) issued vide G.O. Ms. No. 20/2007-

Wel/S.W-V, dated 13-8-2007 and published in the official gazette of

Puducherry, Extraordinary, Part II, No. 52, dated 20-8-2007 namely:—





AMENDMENT

Short title and commencement.— These rules may be called the

“Cash award to meritorious blind students obtaining first three ranks at

the State Level in the S.S.L.C. Examination (Amendment) Rules, 2015”.

1. Amendment of rule 7.— In the said rules, the following shall be

substituted namely:—

Rule 7: Quantum of assistance.— Subject to fulfillment of

eligibility conditions prescribed under rule 4 of these rules, the

quantum of award shall be ` 20,000 for first rank, ` 15,000 for

second rank and ` 10,000 for third rank holders. In the event of

more than one student getting equal marks under S.S.L.C.

examination, the concerned prize of full amount will be equally

distributed to each of them. In case of doubts or disputes of any

kind, the decision of the Government shall be final.

2. This notification shall come into force with effect from the date

of publication in the official gazette.

3. This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Department

vide their U.O. No. 1811/F5/A2, dated 4-8-2015.
