NOTICE OF ELECTION

Election to the Council of States

Notice is hereby given that—

(1) an election is to be held of a member to the Council of States by the

elected members of the Puducherry Legislative Assembly;

(2) Nomination papers may be delivered by a candidate or by any

one of his proposers to the Returning Officer or to the Assistant Returning

Officer, at the premises of the Legislative Assembly Secretariat, Victor Simonel

Street, Puducherry-605 001 between 11.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m. on any day

(other than public holiday) not later than 18th September, 2015;

(3) Forms of the nomination paper may be obtained at the place and

time aforesaid;

(4) Nomination papers will be taken up for scrutiny at the office

mentioned in papragraph (2) above, on 19th September, 2015 at 12.00 noon;

(5) Notice of withdrawal of candidature may be delivered by a

candidate or by any one of his proposers or by his election agent who

has been authorised in writing by the candidate to deliver it to either

of the officers specified in paragraph (2) above, at his office before 3.00 p.m.

on 21st September, 2015;

(6) in the event of the election being contested, the poll will be

taken on 28th September, 2015 between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m.

in the Committee room, Puducherry Legislative Assembly, Victor Simonel Street,

Puducherry-605 001.
