NOTIFICATION

The Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry is pleased to approve the

proposal for modification and enhancement of lean season assistance

granted to fishermen families during natural calamities and for the said

purpose hereby amends “Scheme for Welfare and Relief for Fishermen

during Lean Season and Natural Calamities, 2008” for implementation in

the Union territory of Puducherry notified vide G.O. Ms. No. l4/Fy.,

dated 8-9-2009 and published in the Gazette of Puducherry, Extraordinary,

Part- II, No. 29, dated 10-9-2009 (hereafter referred to as the said

scheme), namely:-





1. Short title and commencement.— (i) This scheme may be called

the “Welfare and Relief for Fishermen during Lean Season and Natural

Calamities” (Amendment) Scheme, 2015”.

(ii) It shall come into force with effect from the date of

publication of this notification in the official gazette.

AMENDMENT

In the said scheme, in clause 7, under the heading, ‘Pattern of

assistance’, namely for sub-clause (i), the following shall be substituted:–

“(i) Lean season assistance: Financial Assistance @ ` 2,500

(Rupees two thousand and five hundred only) per fishermen family

during monsoon season of every year/natural calamities and

payable through ECS”.

2. This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Department,

Puducherry vide their U.O. No. 2304/20l5-16/F4, dated 21-9-2015.
