NOTIFICATION

1. Short title and commencement.— (1) These rules may be called

as the Puducherry Consumer Protection (Amendment) Rules, 2015.

2. They shall be deemed to have come into force with effect

from 4-6-2015.

Amendment of rule 6.— In rule 6 of Puducherry Consumer

Protection Rules, 1987 (hereinafter referred to as the said rules),

(i) for sub-rule (1) of the abovesaid rules, the following shall be

substituted namely:—

“(1) The President of the State Commission shall receive the

salary of the Judge of the High Court if appointed on whole time

basis or a consolidated honorarium of ` 40,000 per month plus

` 3,500 per day of sitting admissible, if conducted 8 sittings and above

per month or a honorarium of ` 20,000 per month plus ` 3,500

per day for sitting admissible if conducted 7 sittings and below

per month. Other members, if sitting on whole time basis shall

receive a consolidated honorarium of ` 25,000 per month and

if sitting on part-time basis a consolidated honorarium of `15,000

plus ` 500 per day of sitting.”

(ii) for sub-rule (2) of the abovesaid rules, the following shall be

substituted, namely:—

“(2) The President of the State Commission, shall be eligible

for such travelling allowances admissible as per rules or A/c car

will be provided during the sitting and for to and fro journeys

between the place of residence and Puducherry and if own car

is utilized for the above purpose, the President is entitled to

claim the admissible mileage allowance for the road journey as

per rules in force.

The President shall be entitled to receive daily allowance on

official tour as are admissible to the Judge of a High Court and

the Member of the State Commission shall be eligible for such

travelling allowance and daily allowance as admissible to Grade-I

Officer of the Government.
