NOTIFICATION

The Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry is pleased to approve the

proposal for modification and enhancement of Ban Period Assistance

granted to fishermen families and for the said purpose hereby amends

“Scheme for Welfare and Relief for Fishermen during Lean Season and

Natural Calamities, 2008” for implementation in the Union territory

of Puducherry notified vide G.O. Ms. No. l4/Fy., dated 8-9-2009

and published in the Gazette of Puducherry, Extraordinary, Part-II, No. 29,

dated 10-9-2009 (hereinafter referred to as the said scheme), namely:-







1. Short title and commencement.— (i) This scheme may be called

the “Welfare and Relief for Fishermen during Lean Season and Natural

Calamities (Amendment-2) Scheme, 2015”.

(ii) It shall come into force with effect from the date of

publication of this notification in the official gazette.

AMENDMENT – 2

In the said scheme, in clause 7, under the heading, ‘Pattern of

assistance’, namely for sub-clause (ii), the following shall be substituted:–

“(ii) Fishing ban period assistance.— Financial assistance @

` 4,000 (Rupees four thousand only) per fishermen family for

47 days of fishing ban period as ban relief and in case of 61 days of

ban period financial assistance @ ` 5,500 (Rupees five thousand and

five hundred only) per fishermen family as ban relief through ECS.”

2. This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Department,

Puducherry vide their U.O. No. 2306/20l5-16/F4, dated 22-9-2015.
