NOTIFICATION

The notice of voluntary retirement given under

rule 48 of Central Civil Service (Pension) Rules, 1972 by

Tmt. K. Vijayalakshmi, Superintendent, Directorate of

Rural Development, Puducherry is accepted.

Accordingly, she is admitted into voluntary retirement

with effect from the forenoon of 14-11-2015.

NOTIFICATION

Whereas, the manufacture, storage, distribution or

sale of Gutkha and Panmasala and any other food

products containing tobacco or nicotine as ingredients

were banned in the whole of the Union territory of

Puducherry for a period of one year vide Notification

No. l388/CS/Health/H7/2013, dated 6th November 2014

and published in the Gazette of Puducherry, No. 47,

dated 25-11-2014;

And whereas, the validity period of the abovesaid

notification has expired;

And whereas, it has been brought to the notice that

of late, the banned food products containing tobacco

or nicotine, which are injurious to health, are widely

available in the market in contravention of the

provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006

(Central Act 34 of 2006) and the rules made thereunder;

And whereas, in the public interest, it is expedient

to prohibit consumption of Gutkha and Panmasala in the

Union territory of Puducherry, being the food products

in which tobacco and nicotine are widely used as

ingredients;

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred

by clause (a) of sub-section (2) of section 30 of the

Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 (Central Act 34

of 2006), the Commissioner of Food Safety of the Union

territory of Puducherry in the interest of public health,

hereby prohibits the manufacture, storage, distribution

or sale of Gutkha and Panmasala and any other food

products containing tobacco or nicotine as ingredients

by whatsoever the name it is available in the market, in

the whole of the Union territory of Puducherry for a

further period of one year from the date of issue of this

notification.

NOTIFICATION

The Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry is pleased

to approve the proposal for the constitution of

Multi-Disciplinary Committee for consideration

of further compensation to the affected fishermen of

Yanam region of Union territory of Puducherry to be

received from M/s. Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation

Limited, Kakinada and for the said purpose, hereby

further extends the tenure of the said Committee from

1-10-2015 to 30-11-2015 with the following constitution

(4) Thiru R. JagaJyothi: Assistant Engineer,

Port Department.

2. The terms of reference as set out in the G.O. Ms.

No. 15/Fy., dated 10-10-2014 of the Chief Secretariat

(Fisheries) shall remain unaltered

3. The said Committee shall submit its report to the

Government by 30-11-2015.
