NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 62 of the Building

and Other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and

Co nditions of Service) Act, 1 996 (Central Act 27 of 1996 ) ,

the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry, hereby makes the following rules

further to amend the Puducherry Building and Other Construction Workers

(Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2001

issued in G.O. Ms. No. 25/2001/Lab./AIL/G, dated 28th August 2001 of

the Official Gazette No. 14, dated 29th August 2001 as amended from

time to time, namely:-

[PART–II

1. Short title and commencement.— (1) These rules may be called

the Puducherry Building and Other Construction Workers (Regulation

of Employment and Conditions of Service) (Fourth Amendment)

Rules, 2015.

(2) They shall come into force on and from the date of its

publication in the Official Gazette.

2. Insertion of new rule 285-C.— In the Puducherry Building and

Other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions

of Service) Rules, 2001, after rule 285-B, the following shall be inserted,

namely:-

“285-C Lean period assistance.- The Board may sanction lean

period assistance at the rate of ` 2,000 per month for a maximum

period of 60 days in a year to all the construction workers enrolled

in the Board to compensate loss of income due to north-east

monsoon, incessant rains, natural calamities, etc., after obtaining

approval from the Government”.
