NOTIFICATION

Whereas, the final notification revising the minimum

rates of wages in respect of 11 Scheduled Employments

viz. (1) Bakeries and Biscuit Manufactory, (2) Printing

Presses, (3) Building Operations, (4) General Engineering

and Fabrication, (5) Chemical Industries, (6) Detergent

Industries, (7) Paper and Paper Products Manufacturing

Industries (both Machine made and Handmade),

(8) Automobile Workshops, (9) Plastic Industries,

(10) Hotels and Restaurants and (11) Hospitals and

Nursing Homes (Other than the Government State

Employees Insurance Hospitals and Dispensaries) in the

Union territory of Puducherry were published as

required under sub-section (2) of section 5 and

sub-section (1) of Section 13 of the Minimum Wages

Act, 1948 (Central Act 11 of 1948), in the Labour

Department's Notification published in the Official

Gazette No.43, dated 27th October 2015 and Gazette

No. 44, dated 3-11-2015;

2. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers

conferred under sub-section (2) of section 5 of the

minimum wages Act, 1948 (Central Act 11 of 1948),

the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry is pleased to

fix 1st April 2016 as the date for implementation of the

minimum wages in respect of the abovesaid 11 Scheduled

Employments in the Union territory of Puducherry.

NOTIFICATION

In continuation of the G.O. Ms. No. 3/Fy, dated 24-2-2014

of the Chief Secretariat (Fisheries), Puducherry, the

tentative seniority list of Assistant Directors of Fisheries

for seniority Nos. 37 and 38 was circulated to all

concerned vide Memorandum No. 95551/US(FY)/2004,

dated 5-10-2015 of the Chief Secretariat (Fisheries),

Puducherry, calling for objections if any and informing

them that if no objections were received, their seniority

would be fixed as indicated therein. Whereas, no

objections to the ranking of the seniority have been

received from the concerned two officials

2. It has therefore been decided that the final

seniority list of Assistant Directors of Fisheries

(Group ‘B’, Gazetted) is fixed as indicated below:

NOTIFICATION

Whereas, the New India Assurance Company

Limited, Madurai has deposited a sum of ` 6,97,760

(Rupees six lakhs ninety-seven thousand seven

hundered and sixty only) under section 8(1) of the

Employees’ Compensation Act, 1923;

2. Whereas, the said amount payable to the

dependents of Thiru G. Veeraiyan, S/o. Ganesan, who

met with fatal accident on 20-11-2014 arising out of and

in the course of employment as a driver while driving

the vehicle owned by Thiru P. Shanmugavelu,

S/o. Packrisamy, resident of Kamarapillai Street,

Kottucherry, Karaikal;

3. And whereas, Tmt. Roobadevi, W/o. G. Veeraiyan

(Late), residing at No. 7, South Pandaravadai, Sethur

Village, Thirunallar Commune, Karaikal District appeared

before this Court and deposed an oath that she and

her minor daughter Divyasri, and minor son Kavin

Chandru are the only dependents at the time of death

of the employee Thiru G. Veeraiyan;

4. Now, therefore, it is notified for the information

to the public that it is proposed to disburse the said

compensation amount to the aforesaid dependents.

As such whoever claims to be the dependents of the

deceased workman Thiru G. Veeraiyan at the time of his

death, may claim by an application in this Court within

a period of one month form the date of publication of

this notification in the Official Gazette with all relevant

documents. Claim received after the due date will not

be considered.
