ORDER

In partial modification of the G. O. Ms. No. 39, dated 21-5-2002 of the Department of Personnel and

Administrative Reforms (Personnel Wing), Puducherry, sanction of the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry is hereby

conveyed for the revision/fixation of room rent for all the category of accommodation available in the Puducherry

Government Guest House at Chennai, as detailed in the Annexure with immediate effect.

2. This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Department vide their U. O. No. 1524/F4/A1/2016-2017,

dated 12-7-2016.

Whereas, the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry has

by notification in G.O. Ms. No. 9/95/Lab., dated 7-4-1995

under sub-section (1) of section 52 of the Pondicherry

Shops and Establishment Act, 1964, authorised

the Secretary to Government, Labour Department,

Puducherry to exercise the powers of the Government

under section 6 of the said Act, relating to exemption;

And Whereas, the managements of (i) M/s. Balaji

Theatre, No. 118, Kamaraj Salai, Puducherry, (ii) M/s.

Muruga Theatre, Thattanchavadi, Puducherry, (iii) M/s. Raja

Talkies, No. 246, Anna Salai, Puducherry, (iv) M/s.

Cinema Ventures Private Limited, Jeeva & Rukmani,

No. 65, Kamaraj Salai, Puducherry, (v) M/s. Rathnaa

Talkees, Puducherry and (vi) M/s. Ashok Theatre,

Villianur, Puducherry have applied for grant of exemption

from certain provisions of the said Act to conduct

special morning shows from 7.00 a.m. from 22-7-2016

to 31-7-2016 on account of screening a new Tamil film

‘Kabali’;

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred

by section 6 of the said Act, the Secretary to

Government, Labour Department, Puducherry hereby

exempts (i) M/s. Balaji Theatre, No. 118, Kamaraj Salai,

Puducherry, (ii) M/s. Muruga Theatre, Thattanchavadi,

Puducherry, (iii) M/s. Raja Talkies, No. 246, Anna Salai,

Puducherry, (iv) M/s. Cinema Ventures Private Limited,

Jeeva & Rukmani, No. 65, Kamaraj Salai, Puducherry,

(v) M/s. Rathnaa Talkees, Puducherry and (vi) M/s. Ashok

Theatre, Villianur, Puducherry from the provisions of

the sections 16(1), 17(1), 17(2) and 18 of the

Pondicherry Shops and Establishments Act, 1964 for

conducting special morning shows from 22-7-2016 to

31-7-2016 on account of screening a new Tamil film

‘Kabali’, subject to the following conditions:

1. Every person employed shall be paid overtime

wages for the period of work done by him in excess

of 8 hours in a week.

2. The total hours of work of each worker

including over time shall not exceed 10 hours

including one hour rest on any day or 5 hours in a

week.

3. The management should obtain permission

from the authorities concerned, wherever necessary.
