NOTIFICATION

The Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry is pleased to enhance the

quantum of Financial Assistance granted to the Scheduled Caste members

who are unable to work for their earning due to prolonged diseases

under the Scheme “Grant of Financial Assistance to the Scheduled Caste

patients suffering from prolonged diseases Rules, 2001” and for the

said purpose hereby makes the following amendments to the said rules

notified vide G.O. Ms. No. 09/2014-Wel.(SCW), dated 10-2-2015 by

the Adi Dravidar Welfare Secretariat, Puducherry (hereinafter referred

to the said rules).

AMENDMENT

In the said rules, in rule 5, for the words and figures thereof,

the following shall be substituted, namely:—

“5. Nature of Assistance.— A Scheduled Caste patient who

fulfils the eligibility conditions will be given ` 3,000 (Rupees

three thousand only) as Financial Assistance every month till

recovery of his or her illness, it shall be released only by

(Aadhaar Payment Bridge) APB/ECS. For every year, the

beneficiaries shall be asked to produce a certificate obtained

from the Medical Officer regarding progress of his or her health

condition. On the basis of the certificate, the Director shall

decide whether to continue the assistance to the applicant beyond

this period or otherwise”.

2. This notification shall come into force with effect from the

date of issue.

3. This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Department

vide I.D. No. 2074/FC/FD/F5/A2, dated 11-10-2016.
