LOCAL ADMINISTRATION SECRETARIAT

(G.O. Ms. No. 02/LAS/2017, Puducherry, dated 18th April 2017)

NOTIFICATION

The Government has directed all the Village Panchayats to undertake

General Revision of House Tax for the quinquennial period commencing from

1-4-2017 to 31-3-2022 vide G.O. Ms. No. 34, dated 9-3-2017 of the Local Administration

Secretariat, Puducherry.

2. In pursuance of sub-rule (2) of rule 3 of the Puducherry Village and

Commune Panchayats (Assessment of Annual Rental Value of Buildings/Houses)

Rules, 2000, the Commissioners of all the Commune Panchayats with the approval

of the Authorized Officer concerned have furnished the lists of Main Roads/Streets,

Secondary Main Roads/Streets and Other Roads/Streets in the respective territorial

jurisdiction of each Village Panchayat, for the purpose of classification of buildings

as required under rule 3 (1) of the said rules, based on their locations, for assessment

of annual rental value of buildings.

3. The Director, Local Administration Department in his I.D. Note No. 2015/

LAD/PPS/2017, dated 27-3-2017, from the Director, Local Administration Department,

Puducherry has recommended that the lists of roads/streets furnished by the

Commissioners of all the Commune Panchayats are in order.

4. Therefore, In exercise of the powers conferred upon by sub-rule (2) of

rule 3 of the Puducherry Village and Commune Panchayats (Assessment of Annual

Rental Value of Buildings/Houses) Rules, 2000, approval of the Government is

hereby accorded to the lists of Main Roads/Streets, Secondary Main Roads/ Streets

and Other Roads/Streets in the respective territorial jurisdiction of each Village

Panchayat in the respective Commune Panchayat concerned as given in Annexure

I to X respectively.

5. The Commissioners of all the Commune Panchayats shall publish the

lists of Main Roads/Streets, Secondary Main Roads/Streets and Other Roads/Streets

in the Official Gazette for the information of the public. Besides, they should give

an advertisement in the newspapers as a news item. Further, the lists shall be

displayed on the notice board of the respective Village Panchayat.
