NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred under sub-section (1) of

section 38 of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education

Act, 2009 (Central Act 35 of 2009), the Lieutenant-Governor,

Puducherry, is hereby pleased to make the following amendment to the

Puducherry Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education

Rules, 2011, issued vide G. O. Ms. No. 101, dated 24th October, 2011





of the Chief Secretariat (Education), Government of Puducherry and

published in the Extraordinary Gazette Part-II, No. 23, dated 27th October, 2011,

namely:-

(1) Short title and commencement.— (1) These rules may be

called the Puducherry Right of Children to Free and Compulsory

Education (Amendment) Rules, 2017.

(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication

in the Official Gazette.

2. In the Puducherry Right of Children to Free and Compulsory

Education Rules, 2011, in rule 7, for the existing sub-rule (5), the

following shall be substituted, namely:-

"(5) In order to ensure quality of education in every school, the

Government of Puducherry shall:-

(a) prepare class-wise, subject-wise learning outcomes for

all elementary classes;

(b) prepare guidelines for putting into practice continuous

and comprehensive evaluation to achieve the defined learning

outcomes; and

(c) prepare a remedial program and a system."
