NOTIFICATION

Whereas, the Market Committee of Karaikal was

exempted from the provisions of sections 9 (1 to 4)

and 11 of the Pondicherry Agricultural Produce

Markets Act, 1973 (Act No. 3 of 1974) by virtue of

section 37 by the said Act and the Members of the said

Committee were nominated by the Lieutenant-

Governor for the period from 31st May 2013 to 31st

May 2014 vide G.O. Ms. No. 2/Ag., dated 31-5-2013;

And whereas, the term of the office of the members

of the said Committee had expired on 31st May 2014;

And whereas, the Government have considered it

desirable that the Market Committee shall consist

solely of Members appointed by it by nomination and

have decided to exempt the Market Committee

(Karaikal) from the provisions of the sections 9 and

11 of the said Act, for the period of six months from

the date of issue of notification.

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred

by section 37 of the Pondicherry Agricultural

Produce Markets Act, 1973 (No. 3 of 1974), the

Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry, hereby exempts the

Karaikal Market Committee from the provisions of

section 9 and 11 of the said Act for the period of six

months from the date of issue of notification and

subject to the following conditions:

(i) The Karaikal Market Committee shall

Jubilee Hall” in recognition of the contribution made

by Sri E. Valsaraj as MLA. and Minister in the

Government of Puducherry for the past 25 years, by

invoking provision contained under rule 25(i) of the

“Rules of Business of the Government of Puducherry,

1963”.

This Order is issued with the prior approval of the

Council of Ministers under rule 46 of the “Rules of

Business of the Government of Puducherry, 1963”.

ORDER

Pursuant to the observations and suggestion of the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms,

Chief Secretariat, Puducherry that the duties and responsibilities, job requirements and entry qualifications of the

posts of Electrician and Electrician-cum-Mechanic in the Agriculture Department are one and the same, with identical

Pay Scales, the Agriculture Department has proposed (vide I.D. No. 1964/Ag./Estt./A1/2014, dated 6-1-2015 of

the Directorate of Agriculture, Puducherry) for amalgamation of the posts of “Electrician and Electrician-cum-

Mechanic” and to redesignate these two categories of posts as “Electrician” in the Agriculture Department,

Puducherry. The proposal as approved by Work Study Group and Administrative Reforms Wing has been cleared

by Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms.

2. Accordingly, sanction of the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry is hereby accorded for the amalgamation

of both the post of “Electrician” carrying pay in the Pay Band PB-1 ` 5,200-20,200 with Grade Pay of ` 1,900

(Level-2 in Pay Matrix in terms of Seventh Central Pay Commission) and the post of “Electrician-cum-Mechanic”

carrying pay in the Pay Band PB-1 ` 5,200-20,200 with Grade Pay of ` 1,900 (Level-2 in Pay Matrix in terms of

Seventh Central Pay Commission) and to redesignate the posts as “Electrician (4 posts)” in Agriculture

Department, Puducherry with immediate effect as detailed below:–

(iii) There would be no extra financial commitment and no request for any revision of Pay Scales.

In supersession of the G.O. Ms. No.28/CT/2017-18, dated 22-8-2017 of the Additional Secretary to

Government (CT), Puducherry, the Assessment Divisions have been created in the Commercial Taxes Department

in line with requirement under the earlier Laws. Now, in view of the implementation of Goods and Services Tax,
