NOTIFICATION
In partial modification of the G.O. Ms. No. 31/2015-Hg., dated 5-10-2015
and Order No. 1-71/2016-Hg., dated 26-10-2016 of the Chief Secretariat (Housing),
Puducherry and in pursuance of the I.D. Note No. 5875/TCP/JTP(P)/Rules/2017/1740,
dated 3-10-2017 of the Senior Town Planner, Town and Country Planning Department,
Puducherry, the Government is pleased to constitute two “District Committees” i.e.,
one Committee for Puducherry, Mahe and Yanam regions and the other for Karaikal
region for selection of beneficiaries for allotment of tenements/houses to slum
dwellers/houseless poor under various housing schemes in the Union territory of
Puducherry; replacing the ‘Advisory Committee’ and the ‘Sub-Committee’ constituted
vide the G.O. Ms. No. 31/2015-Hg., dated 5-10-2015 and Order No. 1-71/2016-Hg.,
dated 26-10-2016 of the Chief Secretariat (Housing), Puducherry respectively; with
the following, namely:-

2. The Committees shall select the eligible beneficiaries of respective
Districts as per the guidelines of the schemes under which constructions are made
and in accordance with the rules for allotment of tenements by Puducherry Slum
Clearance Board, Puducherry as well as the criteria fixed by the Government from
time to time. The decision of the “District Committees” shall be the final. Necessary
documentary evidences shall be kept by the Committees concerned to substantiate
their conclusions/recommendations.
3. They shall come into force from the date of the publication in the Official
Gazette.
