3. Functions of the Committees:
The Vigilance Committees are to check whether the
Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS) schemes
are implemented properly and to conduct spot inspection/
verification and to submit report to the Government,
based on the complaints received from the General
Public for the above purpose.
(i) The State/District Level Committees shall
regularly supervise the implementation of all
schemes under the Food Security Act, 2013 and
inform, in writing any violation of the provisions of
this Act and any malpractice or misappropriation of
funds found by it, to the District Grievance Redressal
Officers of respective region as per the G. O. Ms.
No. 07, dated 07-08-2015 of the Department of Civil
Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Puducherry.
4. The Committees will meet as and when
necessity arises, but, not less than once in every
quarter at both the levels as prescribed under the TPDS
(Control Order), 2015.

dated 12th January 2018)
NOTIFICATION
Whereas, the managements of (i) M/s. Ashok
Theatre, Villianur, Puducherry and (ii) Balaji Theatre,
No. 118, Kamaraj Salai, Puducherry have applied for
grant of exemption from certain provisions of the
Puducherry Shops and Establishments Act, 1964
to
conduct special morning shows at 9.00 a.m.
on 12-1-2018 and 8.30. a.m. from 12-1-2018 to
16-1-2018 respectively on account of screening a new
Tamil film “Thana Serntha Kootam”.
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred
by section 6 of the said Act, vide G.O. Ms. No. 9/95/Lab.,
dated 7-4-1995, the Secretary to Government, Labour
Department, Puducherry, hereby exempts (i) M/s. Ashok
Theatre, Villianur, Puducherry from the provisions of
the section 16(1), 17(1), 17(2) and 18 of the
Pondicherry Shops and Establishments Act, 1964 for
conducting special morning shows on 12-1-2018 and
(ii) Balaji Theatre, No. 118, Kamaraj Salai,
Puducherry from
12-1-2018 to 16-1-2018 on
account of screening a new Tamil film “Thana Serntha
Kootam” subject to the following conditions;
(i) Every person employed shall be paid
overtime wages for the period of work done by
him in excess of 8 hours in a week.
(ii) The total hours of work of each worker
including overtime shall not exceed 10 hours in
any day and in the aggregate 54 hours in a week.
(iii) The management should obtain permission
from the authorities concerned wherever necessary.
(iv) In case, the said screening of the new film
does not take place, this notification shall have
no effect.
