NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 6

of the Indian Ports Act, 1908 (Central Act No. 15 of 1908) and in partial

modification of the earlier notifications issued in respect of Lorry and

Tractor for revision of vehicle entrance fee for plying vehicles within the

Port area, the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry, hereby makes the

following amendment to the Indian Ports (Puducherry) Rules, 1977, the

Registered with the Registrar

of Newspapers for India under

Draft of the same was issued in the Chief Secretariat (Ports), Government

of Puducherry, Notification in G.O. Ms. No. 02, Puducherry, dated the 16th

day of January, 2018 and published in the Government of Puducherry,

Extraordinary Gazette, Part-II, No. 4, dated 23rd day of January, 2018 as

required under sub-section (2) of the said section. As objections/

suggestions were not received with regard to the Draft Rules, the

Government has decided to confirm the said rules, namely:—

INDIAN PORTS (PUDUCHERRY) (AMENDMENT) RULES, 2018

1. Short title, extent and commencement.— (1) These rules may

be called the “Indian Ports (Puducherry) (Amendment) Rules, 2018”.

(2) They shall come into force from the date of issue of this

notification.

2. Amendment of rule 2.— (1) In the Indian Ports (Puducherry)

Rules, 1977, for existing entry (1) under sub-rule (2) of rule 2, the following

shall be substituted, namely:—

“(1) Lorry and Tractor ` 23 for each entry at the Port”
