NOTIFICATION

The Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry, is pleased to include the

official and non-official Members in the Selection Committee for selecting

the awardees under the Scheme of Award of title “Puduvai Kalaimamani”

implemented by this Department in the Union territory of Puducherry

and for the said purpose is pleased to amend the G.O. Ms. No. 34,

dated 2nd July 1996 of the Chief Secretariat (Art and Culture),

Government of Puducherry, namely:—

AMENDMENT

In clause (8) of the Rules and Regulations of the Scheme of Award

of Puduvai Kalaimamani to the eminent Scholars/Artistes in the field of

Literature, Music, Dance, Drama, Paintings and Sculpture, Folk (Tamil,

Telugu and Malayalam) in the Union territory of Puducherry for the

existing clause, the following shall be substituted:—

“The Expert Committee comprising of the Chairman – Hon’ble

Minister for Art and Culture, Members – Secretary to Government

(Art and Culture), Director of Puducherry Institute of Linguistic

Culture, Principal, Bharathiar Palkalai Koodam, Member-Secretary –

Director of Art and Culture with two non-official Members in each

field viz., Literature, Music, Drama, Dance, Painting/Sculpture and

Folk Arts, totaling 17 Members, shall be constituted once in three

years”.

2. The notification shall come into force from the date of issue of

Government Order.
