ORDER

The Society named “Union territory of Puducherry Child Protection

Society” (UTPCPS) of ICPS Scheme has been functioning under the control

of Directorate of Social Welfare, Puducherry on its inception in the premises

of Social Welfare Department, Puducherry. The Director of Social Welfare

is holding the Director In-charge of Child Protection, Government of

Puducherry with a status as Member-Secretary in the Governing Body

of the Society additionally vide G.O. Ms. No. 25/2011/Wel./SW-V, dated

22-07-2011 of the Chief Secretariat (Welfare), Puducherry.

2. Now, the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government

of India, has conveyed the continuation of the integrated Child Protection

Scheme beyond the 12th Five Year Plan was under consideration of the

Government for some time and the Competent Authority has now,

inter alia, approved the renaming of the Sub-Scheme Integrated Child

Protection Scheme as Child Protection Services under Umbrella ‘Integrated

Child Development Services’ vide F.No. 14-3/2012-CW-II, dated 08-12-2017

of Deputy Secretary to Government of India, Ministry of Women and

Child Development, New Delhi.

3. In pursuance of the above, it is become necessary to transfer

the Society (UTPCPS) along with the staff under their control from the

Directorate of Social Welfare to the Department of Women and Child

Development under Umbrella “Integrated Child Development Services

(ICDS)”.

4. The Director of Women and Child Development, Puducherry,

henceforth will look after the duties as Director, In-charge of Child

Protection, Government of Puducherry and also the duties of

Member-Secretary in the Governing Body of the Society.

5. This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Department

vide their I.D.No. 2147/FC/FD/F5/A2/2018, dated 19-10-2018.
