NOTIFICATION
Whereas, the Managements of (i) M/s. JR Cinemas
(Jeeva Rukmani 4K Dolby Atmos), No. 65, Kamaraj
Salai, Puducherry, (ii) M/s. Murugaa Theatre,
Thattanchavadi, Puducherry, (iii) M/s. Balaji Theatre,
No. 118, Kamaraj Salai, Puducherry, (iv) M/s. Raja
Talkies, No. 246, Anna Salai, Puducherry, (v) M/s.
Rathnaa Talkies, No. 468, Anna Salai, Puducherry, (vi)
M/s. Ashok Theatre, Villianur, Puducherry, (vii) M/s.
Jaya Theatre, E.C.R., Periyakalapet, Puducherry, have
applied for grant of exemption from certain provisions
of the said Act, 1964 to conduct special morning shows
from 29-11-2018 to 02-12-2018 on account of
screening a new Tamil film “2.O”;
And whereas, the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry,
has by notification in G.O. Ms. No. 9/95/Lab., dated
07-04-1995 under sub-section (1) of section 52 of the
Puducherry Shops and Establishments Act, 1964,
authorized the Secretary to Government, Labour
Department, Puducherry, to exercise the powers of the
Government under section 6 of the said Act, relating
to grant of exemption;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred
by section 6 of the said Act, the Secretary to
Government, Labour Department, Puducherry,
hereby exempts (i) M/s. JR Cinemas (Jeeva Rukmani
4K Dolby Atmos), No. 65, Kamaraj Salai, Puducherry,
(ii) M/s. Murugaa Theatre, Thattanchavadi, Puducherry,
(iii) M/s. Balaji Theatre, No. 118, Kamaraj Salai,
Puducherry, (iv) M/s. Raja Talkies, No. 246, Anna Salai,
Puducherry, (v) M/s. Rathnaa Talkies, No. 468, Anna
Salai, Puducherry, (vi) M/s. Ashok Theatre, Villianur,
Puducherry,

The conduct of special shows shall be subject to the
following conditions:
(i) Every person employed shall be paid overtime
wages for the period of work done by him in excess
of 8 hours in a day or 48 hours in a week.
(ii) The person employed shall be given rest interval
of at least half-an-hour for every four hours of work.
(iii) The Management should obtain permission
from the authorities concerned wherever necessary.
(iv) In case, the said screening of the new film
does not take place, this notification shall have no effect.
