Providence, Providence Mall, Puducherry, have applied
for grant of exemption from certain provisions of the
Puducherry Shops and Establishments Act, 1964 to conduct
special morning shows from 10-01-2019 to 20-01-2019
on account of screening a new film ‘Viswasam’ (Tamil)
and ‘Petta’ (Tamil);
And whereas, the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry,
has by notification in G.O. Ms. No. 9/95/Lab., dated
07-04-1995 under sub-section (1) of section 52 of the
Puducherry Shops and Establishments Act, 1964,
authorized the Secretary to Government, Labour
Department, Puducherry, to exercise the powers of the
Government under section 6 of the said Act, relating
to grant of exemption;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred
by section 6 of the said Act, the Secretary to Government,
Labour Department, Puducherry, hereby exempts
(i) M/s. Ashok Theatre, Villianur, Puducherry,
(ii) M/s. Raja Talkies, No. 246, Anna Salai, Puducherry,
(iii) M/s. Muruga Theatre, Thattanchavadi, Puducherry,
(iv) M/s. JR Cinemas, (Jeeva Rukmani 4K Dolby Atmos),
No. 65, Kamaraj Salai, Puducherry, (v) M/s. Balaji
Theatre, No. 118, Kamaraj Salai, Puducherry,
(vi) M/s. Rathnaa Talkies, No. 468, Anna Salai,

The conduct of special shows shall be subject to the
following conditions:
(i) Every person employed shall be paid overtime
wages for the period of work done by him in excess
of 8 hours in a day or 48 hours in a week.
(ii) The person employed shall be given rest interval
of at least half-an-hour for every four hours of work.
(iii) The Management should obtain permission
from the authorities concerned wherever necessary.
(iv) In case, the said screening of the new films
does not take place, this notification shall have no effect.

NOTIFICATION
The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India has notified the rules, namely,
"The Construction and Demolition Waste Management Rules, 2016" G.S.R. 317(E), dated 29-03-2016 and published
in the Gazette of India, Part-II, Section-3, Sub-section(ii).
2. Rule 6 (1) of the said rules lays down that the Local Authority shall issue detailed directions with regard
to proper management of construction and demolition waste within its jurisdiction in accordance with the provisions
of the said rules. Further, rule 6 (5) states that the Local Authority shall get the collected waste transported to
appropriate sites for processing and disposal.
3. The following site is, therefore, earmarked for setting up of the storage, processing and recycling
facilities for construction and demolition waste and silt:

4. Therefore, any person or association of persons or institutions, residential and commercial establishments
including Public Works Department, Indian Railways, Airport, Port and Harbor and defense establishments who
undertake construction of or demolition of any civil structure which generate construction and demolition waste
shall deposit the construction and demolition waste only on the site mentioned at para 3 above.
5. The construction and demolition waste only shall be deposited on the site at para 3 above. No other
waste shall be mixed with the construction and demolition waste.
