NOTIFICATION
Whereas, the Government is of the opinion that an
industrial dispute has arisen between the management
of M/s. Puducherry Power Corporation Limited
(A Government of Puducherry Undertaking), Polagam,
T.R.Pattinam, Karaikal and the Union workmen
represented
by
Puducherry
Power
Corporation
Employees Social Welfare Union, T.R.Pattinam, Karaikal,
over alteration of service conditions of Junior Chemist
and Boiler Attendant from ‘workmen’ category to
‘supervisory employees’ in respect of the matter
mentioned in the Annexure to this order;
And whereas, in the opinion of the Government, it is
necessary to refer the said dispute for adjudication;
Now, therefore, by virtue of the authority delegated
vide G.O. Ms. No. 20/91/Lab./L, dated 23-5-1991 of the
Labour Department, Puducherry to exercise the powers
conferred by clause (c) of sub-section (1) of section 10 of
the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (Central Act XIV of 1947),
it is hereby directed by the Secretary to Government
(Labour) that the said dispute be referred to the Labour
Court, Puducherry, for adjudication. The Labour Court,
Puducherry, shall submit the Award within 3 months
from the date of issue of reference as stipulated under
sub-section 2-A of section 10 of the Industrial Disputes
Act, 1947 and in accordance with rule 10-B of the
Industrial Disputes (Central) Rules, 1957. The party
raising the dispute shall file a statement of claim
complete with relevant documents, list of reliance and
witnesses to the Labour Court, Puducherry, within 15 days
of the receipt of the order of reference and also forward
a copy of such statement to each one of the opposite
parties involved in the dispute.

Puducherry (Principal Employer) and M/s. Waterlife
India Private Limited, Puducherry (Contractor) and the
Union workmen represented by Puducherry Water Life
Workers Welfare Association, Puducherry, over charter
of demands such as to regularize the service of workers;
to grant weekly holidays; to provide Identity Card; to
provide ` 20,000 as minimum wages, etc., in respect of
the matter mentioned in the Annexure to this order;
And whereas, in the opinion of the Government, it is
necessary to refer the said dispute for adjudication;
Now, therefore, by virtue of the authority delegated
vide G.O. Ms. No. 20/91/Lab./L, dated 23-5-1991 of the
Labour Department, Puducherry, to exercise the powers

ORDER
In exercise of the powers conferred under
sub-section (1) of section 3 and sub-section (2) of
section 5 of the Minimum Wages Act, 1948, read with
the notification issued vide G.O. Ms. No. 34/Lab./AIL/
G/2013, dated 27-9-2013, the undersigned hereby revises
the rates of Dearness Allowance for the employees
employed in “Sweeping and Cleaning” in the Union
territory of Puducherry with effect from 01-01-2019 on
the basis of rise in the average consumer price index
number reaching 308 from 299 (Base year 2001 = 100)
and thereby resulting in an increase of 9 points
calculated on the basis of average rates of Dearness
Allowance with effect from 01-01-2019.
Accordingly, the Dearness Allowance payable to the
employees employed in Sweeping and Cleaning in the
Union Territory with effect from 01-01-2019 would be
` 112 per day (cumulative). Further, one day wage with
effect from 01-01-2019 will be ` 278 per day [Basic Pay
` 166 + Dearness Allowance ` 112 (cumulative)].

made and Handmade Industries” in the Union territory
of Puducherry with effect from 01-01-2019 on the basis
of rise in the average consumer price index number
reaching 308 from 299 (Base year 2001 = 100) and
thereby resulting in an increase of 9 points calculated
on the basis of average rates of Dearness Allowance
with effect from 01-01-2019.
Accordingly, the Dearness Allowance payable to the
classes of employees employed in the employment of
Paper and Paper Products both Machine made and
Handmade Industries in the Union territory of
Puducherry with effect from 01-01-2019 would be
` 228.3 per month in respect of machine made Industries
and ` 218.5 or ` 219 per month in respect of handmade
industries.

tenders will be opened on the same day at 10.30 a.m. in
the presence of the tenderers who are present.
3. The intending tenders should deposit an amount of
` 1,000 (Rupees one thousand only) as earnest money
deposit. The earnest money deposit of the unsuccessful
tenderers will be returned immediately after the tender
sale is over.
