NOTIFICATION
The Notification in S.O.1924(E), dated 7th June, 2019 of the Ministry of
Environment, Forests and Climate Change, New Delhi, as published in the
Extraordinary Gazette of India Part-II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii), No. 1719, dated
7th June, 2019, is hereby republished for general information of the public.

New Delhi, the 7th June, 2019.
ORDER
S.O. 1924(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of
section 3 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 (29 of 1986) and in pursuance
of the notification of the Government of India in the erstwhile Ministry of
Environment and Forests, Number S.O. 1533(E), dated the 14th September, 2006
(hereinafter referred to as the said notification), the Central Government hereby
constitutes the State Level Environment Impact Assessment Authority, Puducherry
(hereinafter referred to as the Authority, Puducherry), comprising of the following
Members, namely: -
(1) Dr. G. Srinivasan,

Chairman;
Professor and Head, Department of Chemical
Engineering, Pondicherry Engineering College,
Puducherry-605 014.
(2) Dr. T. Ganesan,

Member;
Associate Professor and Head, Department of Botany,
Kanchi Mamunivar Centre for Postgraduate Studies,
Puducherry-605 008.
(3) Director, Department of Science, Technology and

2. The Chairman and Members of the Authority, Puducherry, shall hold
office for a term of three years from the date of publication of this order in the
Official Gazette.
3. The Authority, Puducherry, shall exercise such powers and follow such
procedures as specified in the said notification.
4. The
Authority, Puducherry, shall base its decision on the
recommendations of the State Level Expert Appraisal Committee, Puducherry,
constituted under paragraph 5 of this order.
5. For the purposes of assisting the Authority, Puducherry, the Central
Government, in consultation with the Government of Puducherry, hereby constitutes
the State Level Expert Appraisal Committee, Puducherry, comprising of the
following Members, namely:-

6. The Chairman and Members of the State Level Expert Appraisal
Committee, Puducherry, shall hold office for a term of three years from the date of
publication of this order in the Official Gazette.
7. The State Level Expert Appraisal Committee, Puducherry, shall exercise
such powers and follow such procedures as specified in the said notification.
8. The State Level Expert Appraisal Committee, Puducherry, shall function
on the principle of collective responsibility and the Chairman shall endeavor to
reach a consensus in each case, and if, consensus cannot be reached, the views of
the majority shall prevail.
9. The Government of Puducherry shall notify an agency to act as the
Secretariat for the Authority, Puducherry and the State Level Expert Appraisal
Committee, Puducherry and shall provide all financial and logistic support including
accommodation, transportation and such other facilities in respect of all their
statutory functions.
10. The sitting fee, travelling allowance and dearness allowance to the
Chairman and Members of the Authority, Puducherry, and the Chairman and
Members of the State Level Expert Appraisal Committee, Puducherry, shall be paid
in accordance with the relevant rules of the Government of Puducherry.
