3. The Committee will be responsible for the redressal of complaints made by employees and ensure time-
bound treatment of the complaints as provided in the Act. In case of any complaint, an employee of this Department
may contact the preceding persons.
4. The Presiding Officer/Chairperson and-every Member of the Committee will hold office for a period of
three years from the date of issue of this order.
5. The NGO Member will be paid fees or allowances for holding the proceedings of the Committee by the
Head of this Department.
6. The above constituted Committee should function in conformity of the provisions contained in the Act.
7. The Committee should in each calendar year prepare an annual report (i.e., number of complaints received
in a calendar year and action taken report on the complaints) and submit the same to the undersigned.
8. The Committee will meet once in a month.

The Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry, is pleased to
declare 11th September, 2019 (Wednesday) as Local
Holiday to all the Government Offices and Educational
Institutions in the Puducherry/Karaikal and Yanam
regions on account of ‘Muharram Festival’ which was
earlier declared as Restricted Holiday on 10th September,
2019 vide G.O.Ms.No.70, dated 25-10-2018 of Home
Department, Puducherry and in lieu thereof 14th
September, 2019 (Saturday) will be a working day in the
Puducherry/Karaikal and Yanam regions. This leave is
NOT covered under Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.
2. The 11th September, 2019 had already been
declared as a Public Holiday for Mahe region on account
of Onam 2nd day festival vide G.O.Ms.No.70, dated
25-10-2018 of Home Department, Puducherry. Hence, no
separate order is issued for Mahe region.
