In pursuance of para VI (1) of the Operational Guidelines of the

“Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana” (PMFBY), read with the

communication under Letter No. 13015/03/2016-Credit II, dated 23-02-2016

of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Department of

Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture

and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, New Delhi, the

Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry, is pleased to notify the Crops and

Notified Area in Puducherry, Karaikal and Yanam regions as detailed in

4. The Government of Puducherry will extend 100% subsidy on

the maximum premium payable by the farmers in order to have wider

coverage of all the farmers (loanee and non-loanee) under the Crop

Insurance Scheme in addition to the subsidy on premium shared by the

Centre and the State Government as per the pattern of Assistance

extended by the Government of India.

5. Further, as provided in the said Scheme, the indemnity claims

will be settled only on the basis of yield data furnished by the

Government of Puducherry based on requisite number of Crop Cutting

Experiment (CCEs). Since, the conduct of the CCEs involves more

manpower which, the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare

and Department of Economics and Statistics could not meet, the conduct

of CCEs will be outsourced on contract basis for a period of 11 months

in a year and the expenditure on the conduct of CCE will be met from

the Corpus Fund for the Insurance Scheme.

6. The Insurance Company is liable to settle the claims at 90% for

all Kharif (2019) and Rabi-II (2019-20) crops and 70% for all Rabi-I

2019-20 crops within three weeks from the receipt of yield data.
