NOTIFICATION

Under sub-section (2) of section 4 of the Right to Fair Compensation and

Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013.

Whereas, certain lands are required for the purpose of “Construction of

approach road for the newly constructed bridge across River Sankaraparani

connecting Odiampet and Thirukanji Villages in Puducherry”.

2. And whereas, the Requisition Department viz., Public Works Department,

Irrigation Division, Puducherry, has submitted a proposal for the acquisition of lands

at Odiampet and Thirukanji Revenue Village for the said purpose.

3. Now, the Government intends to acquire the following lands from the

landowners, located at No.46-Odiampet Revenue Village and No.47-Thirukanji

Revenue Village of Villianur Taluk for purpose of “Construction of approach road

for the newly constructed bridge across River Sankaraparani connecting Odiampet

and Thirukanji Villages in Puducherry under” the Right to Fair Compensation in

Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013:

4. In the process of the said acquisition proceedings, under rule 9(1) of

Puducherry Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition,

Rehabilitation and Resettlement Rules, 2015, the State Social Impact Assessment

Team has been constituted to carry out the Social Impact Assessment Study in

the affected areas of No.46-Odiampet Revenue Village and No.47-Thirukanji Revenue

Village of Villianur Taluk.

5. The following Members constitute the Social Impact Assessment Team.

6. The Social Impact Assessment Team shall carryout the following activities:

(a)

Consultation

:

With stake holders of the proposed area

including Villianur Commune Panchayat.

(b)

Survey (organization

:

Tahsildar, Taluk Office, Villianur, will complete

undertake the study)

survey of proposed area under acquisition

within 15 days from the date of publication

of this Notification.

(c)

Public Hearing(s)

:

Social Impact Assessment (S.I.A) Unit will

decide the time and place for public hearing

before submitting S.I.A. report.

(d)

Time line

:

Social Impact Assessment (S.I.A) report

and Social Impact Management Plan (S.I.M.P)

should be completed within three months

from the date of issuance of this Notification

and to be published on the notice-board

of Collectorate, Puducherry.

7. The Social Impact Assessment Team shall submit its report in Form-III,

as per rule 7(4) of the Puducherry Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency

in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Rules, 2015, within a period

of three months.

8. Any attempt of coercion or threat during this period will render the

exercise null and void.
