NOTIFICATION
S.O....In exercise of the powers conferred under section 7 of the Prisons
Act, 1894, the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry, hereby declares the Indira
Gandhi Arts and Science College, Kadirkamam, Puducherry, as Temporary Prison
for the detention of persons who are violating provisions of Disaster Management
Act and other orders of the Government, issued in connection with the pandemic
novel Corona COVID-19.
2. Approval is also accorded to provide a sum of `10,00,000 (Rupees ten
lakhs only) from the State Disaster Relief Fund to meet the expense for providing
diet/non-diet and for carrying out temporary arrangements/repairs by Public
Works Department, as suggested in the inspection report.
3. The Police Department shall provide necessary security arrangements
to the above Temporary Prison.
