NOTIFICATION
Whereas, the Child Welfare Committee in the Mahe region of the Union
territory of Puducherry was initially constituted for a period of three years
vide G.O. Ms. No. 2/SWS/2017-18, dated 2-5-2017 of the Social Welfare Secretariat,
Puducherry. The tenure of the Committee was expired on 02-05-2020.
And, now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 27 of
the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 and rule 16 of the
Puducherry Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Rules, 2017, the
Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry, is hereby pleased to accord sanction for extending
the tenure of present Child Welfare Committee in Mahe region for the period of six
month from 3-5-2020 or constitution of new Committee whichever is earlier.
