NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 20
of the Puducherry Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1967 (Act No. 5 of 1967),
and in partial modification of the notified (1) G.O. Ms. No. 19/TD/2010,
dated 06-09-2010, (2) G.O. Ms. No. 24/TD/2010, dated the 01-11-2010,
(3) G.O. Ms. No. 25/TD/2010, dated the 01-11-2010, (4) G.O. Ms. No. 1/TD/2012,

dated 04-01-2012, (5) G.O. Ms. No. 2/TD/2012, dated 04-01-2012 and
(6) G.O. Ms. No. 9/TD/2018, dated 05-12-2018 of the Transport Department
(Secretariat Wing), Government of Puducherry, the Lieutenant-Governor,
Puducherry, hereby directs that with effect from 7th December 2018,
tax shall be levied on the following categories of the vehicles using any
public road in the Union territory of Puducherry at the rates specified
against each such category, and for this purpose, Schedule-I of the
Puducherry Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1967 shall be amended as
follows, namely:-
AMENDMENT
In the Puducherry Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1967 (Act No. 5
of 1967), in Schedule-I,–
(i) after item 6, the following item 7 shall be inserted, namely:-
“7. (a) A transport vehicle which is exempted from permit
under sub-section (3) of section 66 of the Motor Vehicles Act,
1988 other than goods carriages not exceeding 3000 Kgs. in
weight laden registered in any other State, and if it remains in
the Union territory of Puducherry for a period exceeding
30 days.
(b) A transport vehicle so long as the vehicle is not covered
by permit or counter signature of permit issued by any transport
authority in the Union territory of Puducherry or by a permit
granted in any other State is to ply in the Union territory of
Puducherry by virtue of rules made under the Motor Vehicles
Act, 1988.
(c) A motor vehicle which is so long as under the possession
of the financier (a person A firm being referred to as a financier
under sub-section (6) of section 51 of the Motor Vehicles Act,
1988) subject to the physical verification of such vehicle by an
official of the Transport Department deputed for the purpose,
in whose jurisdiction the vehicle is parked and vehicle is not
used on the public roads during that period, subject to approval
of the Licensing Officer.

NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 20
of the Puducherry Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1967 (Act No. 5 of 1967),
and in partial modification of the notified Government orders issued
earlier, the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry hereby pleased to make the
alteration to the Schedule-I of the said Act with effect from 7th December
2018, namely:-
ALTERATIONS
In the Puducherry Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1967 (Act No. 5
of 1967), in Schedule-I,–

(i) after item 10, the following item 11 shall be inserted, namely:-
11.
Motor Vehicles liable to tax under forgoing provisions
of item (1) to (10) of Schedule-l and those in respect of:
“11. (a) A transport vehicle which is exempted from permit
under sub-section (3) of section 66 of the Motor Vehicles Act,
1988 other than goods carriages not exceeding 3000 Kgs. in
weight laden registered in any other State, and if it remains in
the Union territory of Puducherry for a period exceeding 30 days.
(b) A transport vehicle so long as the vehicle is not
covered by permit or counter signature of permit issued by
any transport authority in the Union territory of Puducherry
or by a permit granted in any other State is to ply in the Union
territory of Puducherry by virtue of rules made under the
Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.

NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (c) of sub-section (1)
of section 4 of the Puducherry Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1967
(Act No. 5 of 1967), the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry, hereby directs
that with effect from the date of publication in the Official Gazette,
the following Amendment in the Schedule-II of the Puducherry Motor
Vehicles Taxation Act and published vide G.O. Ms. No. 11/TD/2018, dated
5th December 2018, namely:-
AMENDMENT
In clause (ii) of item 2, for the existing words “To carry more
than three persons but not more than five persons other than the Driver”,
the following words shall be substituted, namely:-
“To carry more than three persons but not more than five
persons for every person (other than the driver) which the
vehicle is permitted to carry”.

(Act No. 5 of 1967), the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry, hereby makes
the following Alterations to the Schedule-II of the said Act with effect
from the date of publication in the Official Gazette, namely:-
