NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred under sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Waqf Act, 1995 (No. 43 of 1995),

read with the Notification in S.O.572(E), dated 19th August, 1996 of the Government of India, Ministry of Home

Affairs, New Delhi and in supersession of the notification issued in No. 10/PSWB/Survey/2015, dated 17th August, 2015

of Department of Hindu Religious Institutions & Waqf, Government of Puducherry, save as respects things done or

omitted to be done before such supersession, the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry, hereby appoints the District

Collector, Puducherry, as the Survey Commissioner of Auqaf for the entire Union territory of Puducherry and the

Sub-Collectors/Deputy Collectors (Revenue), Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam, as the Assistant Survey

Commissioners of Auqaf within their respective Jurisdictions. All Assistant Survey Commissioners of Auqaf shall

perform their functions in accordance with the provisions contained in the Act under the general supervision and

control of the Survey Commissioner of Auqaf as per sub-section (2) of section 4 of the Waqf Act, 1995.
