NOTIFICATION

Whereas, the General Elections to the Puducherry Legislative Assembly is scheduled to be held on the

6th day of April, 2021 and counting of votes polled is scheduled on 2nd day of May, 2021 in the Union territory

of Puducherry;

And whereas, it is essential to ensure that the Elections are to be conducted in a free, fair and peaceful manner;

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred under rule 199 of the Puducherry Excise Rules, 1970,

the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry, hereby directs that all the Arrack, Toddy and Liquor shops, Clubs, Bars and

Restaurants serving liquor in Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam regions shall remain closed from 4th day of

April, 2021 to 6th day of April, 2021 on account of polling and from 2nd day of May, 2021 till, 4.00 p.m.

on 3rd day of May, 2021 on account of counting of votes.
