NOTIFICATION

Whereas, in the Annexure-V of the Notification issued in G.O. Ms.

No. 50/LAS/2019, Puducherry, dated 07-03-2019 of this Secretariat and

published in the Official Gazette of Puducherry, Extraordinary Part-I, No. 38, dated

07-03-2019, the Government has notified reservation of seats for Scheduled Castes,

Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, Scheduled Caste Women, Scheduled Tribe

Women and General Women in the Village Panchayats for the purpose of conduct

of Elections to the Village Panchayats;

And whereas, in the said Annexure-V (Statement Showing the Reservation

of Seats in Village Panchayats), some errors in the Scheduled Castes population,

percentage of Scheduled Castes population and total number of seats reserved for

women (Scheduled Caste Women and General Women) have occurred in respect of

Abishegapakkam Village Panchayat in Ariyankuppam Commune Panchayat and

Manavely (North) Village Panchayat and Odiampet (West) Village Panchayat in

Villianur Commune Panchayat;

And whereas, it has been considered necessary to correct such errors in

order to facilitate preparation of error free reservation of seats in Village Panchayats

and ultimately for smooth conduct of Elections to the Village Panchayats without

any hitch;

And whereas, it is proposed to amend the said Annexure-V (Statement

Showing the Reservation of Seats in Village Panchayats) and also substitute the

entries in the said Annexure-V in relation to the above-mentioned Village Panchayats

by the entries mentioned in the Appendix appended herewith;

Now, therefore, notice is hereby given for information of the general public

calling for objections or suggestions to be addressed to the Director, Local

Administration Department, Puducherry (e-mail ID : [email protected])

within 7 (seven) days time from the date of publication of this notification in the

Official Gazette of Government of Puducherry. The objections or suggestions so

received within the abovesaid time-limit shall only be considered for examination

by the Government.
