NOTIFICATION
FOR DISSOLUTION OF DEFUNCT SOCIETIES
Notices were issued to the following 876 Societies (Refer: Annexure – 1) directing them to submit annual
statutory returns with the Registrar. Since, these Societies have failed to comply and have been defaulting since,
incorporation, defunct action under section 22 of the Societies Registration Act, 1860 and Societies Registration
(Pondicherry) Amendment Act, 1969, has been taken and the Societies are treated as having become defunct and
dissolved.
However, liability, if any, of the members of the Governing Body or the members of the Society, as the case
may be, shall continue and may be enforced even if, the Society had become defunct.
This notification is published hereby for the general information of the public.
