NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred under clause (r) of sub-scction (2)

of section 38 of the Puducherry Village and Commune Panchayats

Act, 1973 (No. 10 of 1973) and of all other powers enabling her in this

behalf, the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry, is hereby pleased to make

the following rules further to amend the Puducherry Village and

Commune Panchayats (Conduct of Election of Members of Commune

Panchayat Councils and Presidents and Members of Village Panchayats)

Rules, 1978, notified vide G.O. Ms. No. 310, dated 11th December, 1978

of the Local Administration Department, Government of Puducherry,

namely:-

1. Short title, extent and commencement.— (1) These rules may

be called the Puducherry Village and Commune Panchayats (Conduct of

Election of Members of Commune Panchayat Councils and Presidents

and Members of Village Panchayats) [Third Amendment] Rules, 2022.

(2) They shall extend to the whole of the Union territory of

Puducherry.

(3) They shall come into force with immediate effect.

2. Amendment of Form 6.— For the existing Form-6 appended to

the Puducherry Village and Commune Panchayats (Conduct of Election

of Members of Commune Panchayat Councils and Presidents and

Members of Village Panchayats) Rules, 1978, the following ‘Form-6’ shall

be substituted, namely:-

Nota Bene (N.B.):

1. Separate list for each Post shall be prepared.

2. List of candidates for all the posts shall be alphabetically (in

Tamil language) listed out.

3. (i) As far as Post 3 is concerned, the list shall be Tamil

alphabetically list out in the following order -

(a) Candidates of recognized National and State Political Parties

First;

(b) Candidates of registered Political Parties (other than

recognized National and State Political Parties) as second

and;

(c) The candidates other than Political Parties as third position.

(ii) Under Column 1 above, the serial number of candidates of

all the categories shall be given consecutively and not separately for

each category.
