NOTIFICATION

The following notification, issued under sub-section (1) of section 14 of

the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Central Act 2 of 1974) for redefining

the local areas over which the Judicial Magistrate-I and Judicial Magistrate-II,

Karaikal, may exercise the powers of Judicial Magistrate of the First Class,

is hereby published for information of the general public.

NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 14 of

the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Central Act 2 of 1974) and in supersession

of all the previous Notifications on the subject, the Chief Judicial Magistrate,

Karaikal, hereby redefines the local areas specified in column (2) of the Table below,

as areas over which the Judicial Magistrate specified in column (1) of the Table

below, may exercise all or any of the powers of the Judicial Magistrate of the

First Class vested with them under the said Circle with effect from the date of

publication of the Notification in the Official Gazette No.12, dated 24-03-2020 vide

G.O.Ms. No. 6/2020-LD., dated 09-03-2020 of Law Department, Puducherry:-
