NOTIFICATION

The Government of Puducherry is hereby informed that all Health Institutions which are providing services

of CT/MRI/B Scan (Ophthalmology) are to be registered under section 18 of the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal

Diagnostic Technique (Prohibition of Sex Selection) Act, 1994 (hereinafter called as Act). All such Institutions have

to follow all the provisions of this Act, including ban or portability of machine. Already registered Institutions

under this Act having the facility of CT, MRI & B Scan are required to submit the details of their machines only to

the Appropriate Authority and need not apply for fresh registration. No fee shall be charged from already registered

Institutions. However, the Institutions which are exclusively providing CT/MRI/B Scan facilities and are not registered

under this Act need to apply for fresh registration to the Appropriate Authority.

2. All the Institutions providing the facilities for CT, MRI & B Scan will be required to fill the Form “F”

whenever the investigation is being done on a pregnant woman for abdominal scan only.

3. This notification shall come into force with immediate effect.
