NOTIFICATION

The 21st Law Commission of India has examined the subject on ‘Uniform Civil Code’ and issued the

consultation paper on “Reforms of Family Law” on 31-08-2018 which is made available in the Law Department’s

website at https://law.py.gov.in/. Presently, the 22nd Law Commission has taken up the matter for consideration

and have solicited views and ideas of the stakeholders on it.

Any views/suggestions/comments, which may be received from any person in respect of the abovesaid

consultation paper on the “Reforms of Family Law”, for the purpose of drawing a ‘Uniform Civil Code’ in the matter

of marriage, divorce, adoption, maintenance, inheritance, succession, guardianship and gifts, will be taken up by

the Government of Puducherry for consideration and for making necessary recommendations to the Government of India.

The views/suggestions/comments in this regard, shall be addressed by post to the Secretary to Government (Law),

Chief Secretariat, 1st Floor, B-Block, Goubert Avenue, Puducherry-605 001 or by e-mail to [email protected] within

15 days from the date of publication of this Notification.
