Sealed tenders quoting the rate per kilogram

(excluding Sales tax) are invited from the Karaikal region

tenderers for sale of old newspapers (Tamil and

English), periodicals (Tamil and English), waste papers

and scrap materials belonging to the Government Public

Library/Branch Libraries of Karaikal region

2. Sealed tender should be addressed to the

Assistant Library and Information Officer, Department

of Art and Culture, Karaikal, duly superscripted on the

envelope as “Tender for the purchase of old

newspapers and periodicals, waste papers and scrap

materials (Plastic and Metal)” and to reach the Office

of the Assistant Library and Information Officer,

Dr. Aranganathan Government Public Library 1st Floor,

Church Street, Karaikal, on or before 09-05-2024 at

10.00 a.m. The tenders will be opened at 3.00 p.m. on

the same day in the presence of tenderers present if

any, in the Office of the Assistant Library and

Information Officer, Karaikal.

3. The intending tenderers should deposit a sum of

` 1,000 (Rupees one thousand only) as an earnest

money to the Cashier, Department of Art and Culture,

Karaikal, at the time of submitting their tenders. The

tenders without earnest money deposit will summarily

be rejected.

4. The earnest money deposit of the unsuccessful

tenderers will be returned immediately after the tender

sale is over, whereas, the earnest money deposit of the

successful tenderer will also be returned after the official

process is completed in all aspects.

5. The tenders received after the due date and time

will not be entertained.

6. The undersigned, authorised official, reserves the

right to accept or reject any tenders in part or whole

without assigning any reason thereof.

7. The successful tenderer should pay the full

amount including sales tax as applicable under the rules

in force and clear the items within 15 days from the

Libraries of this Department at their own risk and cost,

failing which, the entire amount of earnest money

deposit will be forfeited.

8. Once the tender process is completed, no claim

related with the quantity and quality of newspapers/

periodical will be admitted.

9. The intending tenderers can inspect the items

during office hours in the GPL/GBL of this Directorate

with the prior permission of the in-charge of the

concerned Libraries.

10. In case of any dispute, the decision of the

Assistant Library and Information Officer Director/

Authorised Official will be the final.

11. GST/VAT/Sales tax will be collected on the sale

of old newspapers, periodicals, waste papers and scrap

materials as per the rates prevailing at the time of sale/

disposal.

Sealed tenders superscripted on the Envelope as

“Tender for the purchase of old newspapers and

magazines” and should reach the Principal, Avvaiyar

Government College for Women, Karaikal, on or before

15-05-2024 (Wednesday) at 3.30 p.m. The tenders will

be opened on the same day at 3.45 p.m. in the presence

of the tenderers, who are present.

1. The intending tenderers should deposit

an earnest money of ` 500 (Rupees five hundred only)

while submitting the tenders.

2. The earnest money deposit of unsuccessful

tenderers will be refunded after finalizing the tender.

3. Tenders received after the stipulated date and

time will not be accepted.

4. The successful tenderer should pay the amount

in full immediately and remove the articles at his/her

own cost.

5. The Principal, Avvaiyar Government College for

Women, Karaikal, reserves the right to accept or

reject any or all tenders without assigning reasons

thereof.

6. GST will be collected on the sale of old

newspapers and magazines as per the rates prevailing

at the time of disposal/sales.

7. The intending tenderers can inspect the items

during working hours with the permission of the

Principal.

8. No claim about quality and quantity of old

articles will be entertained once the tender is

finalized.

9. In case of dispute if any, the decision of the

Principal will be the final and binding on all concerned.
