NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to sub-section (1) of

section 11 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Central Act No. 2 of 1974),

the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry, after consultation with the High Court of

Judicature at Madras, hereby establishes a Court of Judicial Magistrate (Mahila

Court) at the Puducherry District of this Union territory of Puducherry.

NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to sub-section (1) of

section 11 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Central Act No. 2 of 1974),

the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry, after consultation with the High Court of

Judicature at Madras, hereby establishes the Court of Judicial Magistrate at

Puducherry District of this Union territory of Puducherry, to try all petty traffic

offences including all other Police (Puducherry Amendment) Act, 1955, petty cases

arising within the local Jurisdiction of the following traffic points:-

Puducherry Civil Courts Act, 1966 (Act No. 12 of 1966), the Lieutenant-Governor,

Puducherry hereby fixes the number of District Munsif Court at Puducherry District

(comprising of Puducherry and Mahe only) as five, with effect from the date,

the District Munsif, Puducherry, assumes charge of the said Court.

NOTIFICATION

The Government of Puducherry, in consultation with the High Court of

Judicature at Madras, hereby designates the Principal District Court at Puducherry

for Sessions Division of Puducherry and Karaikal as the Special Courts in the Union

territory of Puducherry and also appoints the Principal District and Sessions Judge

as the Judge of the said Special Court to try all the criminal cases including sessions

cases and cases arising from (i) Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes

(Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 (Central Act 33 of 1989); (ii) Protection of

Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 (Central Act 32 of 2012); (iii)

Exclusive Trial of Cases of Offences against Women; (iv) Prevention of Corruption

Act, 1988 (Central Act 49 of 1988); (v) Communal Clash Cases; (vi) Bomb Blast

Cases; and (vii) Land Grabbing Cases, as well as cases under the Special Acts,

Central Acts and State Acts, involving elected Members of Parliament and Members

of Legislative Assembly of the Union territory of Puducherry.
