NOTIFICATION

In the Notification issued vide G.O. Ms. No. 43, dated 29-06-2024 of the

Home Department, Government of Puducherry, designating the places for the

purpose(s) of sub-section (3) of section 265, sub-section (2) of section 266 and

section 308 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 for recording the

statements of the witnesses of prosecution/defenc e as well as the recording of

the statements of the witnesses in the absence of the accused during trial, through

audio/video electronic means and published vide Extraordinary Gazette, Part-I,

No. 88, dated 29th June 2024, the existing paras (4), (7) and (8), shall be omitted.

NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred under sub-section (3) of section 265,

sub-section (2) of section 266 and section 308 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha

Sanhita, 2023, read with Notification vide S.O. No. 2506(E), dated 28-06-2024 of the

Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, New Delhi, the Lieutenant-Governor,

Puducherry, hereby notifies the places as in Schedule below as “Designate Place”

for the purpose of proviso to sub-section (3) of section 265, proviso to

sub-section (2) of section 266 and section 308 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha

Sanhita, 2023 (Act 46 of 2023).
