NOTIFICATION
A State Level Heritage Conservation and Advisory Committee (SLHCAC) was constituted vide G.O. Ms.
No. 19/2019-Hg., dated 19-08-2019 of the Chief Secretariat (Housing), Puducherry, in order to tender advise to the
Government in matters relating to conserve/preserve the Heritage Buildings in the Union territory of Puducherry.
2. The SLHCAC in its meeting held on 26-06-2023 discussed the proposal of notification of 118 numbers of
private buildings and 13 numbers of religious buildings situated in the Boulevard of Puducherry Town in the
Puducherry region, as “Heritage Buildings”. After calling objections and suggestions from the general public, the
SLHCAC in its meeting held on 22-11-2023 recommended to notify 118 numbers private buildings and 13 numbers
religious buildings listed below, as Heritage Buildings. The Member-Secretary, Puducherry Planning Authority, has
submitted a proposal for notification of these buildings as Heritage Buildings as per the recommendations of the
SLHCAC and as required under clause 1.5 of the heritage regulations notified vide G.O. Ms. No. 07/2018-Hg., dated
07-09-2018.

3. Accordingly, approval of the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry, is hereby accorded to notify the 118
numbers private buildings and 13 numbers religious buildings, listed below, as “Heritage Buildings”:
