NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the powers conferred by the sub-section (3) of Section 176 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha
Sanhita, 2023 (Act 46 of 2023) read with the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi, Notification
in S.O.No.2506(E), dated 28-06-2024, the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry is pleased to notify that with effect
from 16-08-2024, the officer in charge of a Police Station shall, on receipt of every information relating to the
Commission of an offence which is made punishable for seven years or more, cause the Forensic Expert to visit
the crime scene to collect forensic evidence in the offence and also cause videography of the process on designated
mobile phone/tablet or other electronic device provided.

NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the powers conferred under the proviso clause under section 176 of sub-section (3) of the Bharatiya
Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry is pleased to authorize Investigating Officers (IOs)
of Police Stations in the Union territory of Puducherry, to collect evidence in respect of offence which is made punishable
for seven years or more and for utilization of Forensic Experts from the nearby Police Districts of Nagapattinam District
of Tamil Nadu in Karaikal District, Kannur District of Kerala in Mahe region and Kakinada District of Andhrapradesh in
Yanam region, till the Forensic Expert is made available and during non-availability of Forensic Experts.
