NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution of India read with the

Notification No. F5/4/65-GP., dated 11th January, 1965 of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India,

New Delhi and in partial modification of the earlier Notification issued vide G.O. Ms. No. 10/2016(Tr.Sectt.),

Puducherry, dated 7th October of the Transport Secretariat, Government of Puducherry, 2016, in so far as it relates

to the Schedule annexed thereto and published as a Supplement to the Gazette No. 43 of the 25th October, 2016 and

in pursuant to the Order issued vide G.O. Ms. No. 8/2016-(Tr.Sectt.), Puducherry, dated 7th October 2016 and published

as a Supplement to the Gazette No. 43 of the 25th October, 2016, the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry, hereby makes

the following amendment regulating the method of recruitment to the post of Enforcement Assistant, Group 'C'-

Non-Gazetted (Technical) in the Transport Department, Government of Puducherry, namely:-

1. Short title and commencement.— (i) These rules may be called the Government of Puducherry, Transport

Department, Recruitment Rules for the post of Enforcement Assistant(Amendment) Rules, 2025.

(ii) They shall come into force on and from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

2. Amendment of the Schedule.— In the Schedule annexed to the Government of Puducherry, Transport

Department, Recruitment Rules to the post of Enforcement Assistant, 2016, for the existing entries against Column

(10), the following shall be substituted, namely:-

"By direct recruitment

Note : (l) The officials holding the posts of Mechanic, Welder, Welder (Tinkering), Electrician, Carpenter,

Upholsterer and Machinist on 25-10-2016 shall be deemed to have been appointed to the post at the initial

constitution.

Note : (2) Helpers who had been holding the post on regular basis on 25-10-2016 and who are having

three years of regular service in the grade and possessing Educational qualifications prescribed for direct recruits

under Column(7) shall be considered for appointment to the post of Enforcement Assistant.

Note : (3) Vacancies caused by the incumbent being away on deputation or long illness or study leave

or under other circumstances for a duration of one year or more shall be filled on deputation basis from officials of

Puducherry Administration.-

(a) holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent cadre/Department; and

(b) possessing the qualifications and experience prescribed for direct recruitment under Column(7)

(Period of deputation (ISTC) including the period of deputation (ISTC) in another ex cadre post held

immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organization or Departments of the Central/State/

Union Territory Governments shall ordinarily not exceed 3 years. The maximum age-limit for appointment by deputation

shall be not exceeding 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications)".
