NOTIFICATION
In pursuance of the provisions contained under rule 4 of the
“Rules to Regulate the Scheme for the Release of Financial Assistance
to the Hindu Religious Institutions in the Union territory of Puducherry
for (a) performance of Oru Kala Pooja, (b) Payment of electricity
consumption charges, (c) payment of water consumption charges and

(d) desilting of tanks / ponds / wells” notified in G.O. Ms. No. 44/CHRI/
T6/2007-08, dated 24-03-2008 of Department of Hindu Religious
Institutions and Wakf, and published in Part-II, Extraordinary Gazette
No. 8, dated 24-03-2008 of the Official Gazette of Puducherry and
in supersession of the notification No. 5975/CHRI/T6(GIA)/2009-10,
dated 28-07-2010, the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry, is pleased to
sanction the following for accomplishment of the objectives stated in
rule 3:
(i) Rupees thirty thousand only per annum for performance of
Oru Kala Pooja;
(ii) Rupees one thousand only per annum for payment of
electricity consumption charges;
(iii) Rupees five hundred only per annum for payment of water
consumption charges;
(iv) Rupees five thousand only for desilting of temple tanks /
ponds / wells once in ten years.
2. This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Department
vide I.D.E. Comp. No. e-35162/FD/F4/A1/2025-26, dated 23-06-2025.
