NOTIFICATION

Whereas, orders were issued in pursuance of sub-section (3) of section 3 of the National Security Act, 1980

(Central Act 65 of 1980), directing that the District Magistrate, Puducherry and Karaikal, may also, if satisfied, as

provided in sub-section (2) of the said section, exercise the powers conferred by the said sub-section for a period

of 3 (three) months from 28th of April 2025 in the Home Department’s Notification issued in G.O. Ms. No. 13, dated

17-04-2025;

2. And whereas, the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry, having regard to the circumstances prevailing in

the Union territory of Puducherry, is satisfied that it is necessary to extend the said period by 3 (three) months from

28th July, 2025;

3. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to sub-section (3) of section 3 of the

National Security Act, 1980 (Central Act 65 of 1980), the Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry, hereby extends the powers

conferred in the said sub-section for a further period of 3 (three) months from 28th July, 2025.
