NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred under the proviso to clause (b) of

sub-section (1) of section 66 of the Factories Act, 1948 (Central Act 63 of 1948),

the Lieutenant-Governor of Puducherry, hereby varies the limits of working hours

of women in all the Factories located in the Union territory of Puducherry, subject

to the following conditions, namely:–

(1) No woman shall be required or allowed to work in any factory between

10.00 p.m. and 5.00 a.m.

(2) Free transport facilities to their residences shall be provided by the

occupier, to such women workers working in any factory up to 10.00 p.m.







(3) Notice of periods of work prepared in accordance with section 61 of

the Act shall be exhibited in the factory in accordance with rule 87 of the

Puducherry Factory Rules, 1964, in Form No. 11 appended thereto.

(4) The provisions regarding daily hours of work prescribed in section 54

of the Factories Act, 1948 shall be strictly adhered to.

(5) The particulars of such women workers shall be maintained in

accordance with rule 118 of the said rules in Form No. 27 appended thereto.
