NOTIFICATION

The 1st May, 2020

No. 10/71/2019-2T2/486.-In compliance with the direction dated 26.09.2018 issued by the Hon'ble

Supreme Court Committee on Road Safety, the Governor of Punjab is pleased to constitute a Committee

comprising of the following officer/ officials of Transport Department, Punjab Police, Nationa Highway Authority

of India (NHAI), Road Safety Associates and public works Department (Building & Roads) for scientific

investigation of every road accident involving death and major injuries in the State under Section 135 of the

Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and Rules made there under:-

1.

Representative of PWD (B&R)/NHAI not below the rank of SDO/ Assistant Engineer of the respective

district.

2.

Motor vehicle Inspector of the respective district/ AME Punjab Roadways/Service Engineer, PRTC.

3.

Road Safety Associates deployed under Punjab Vision Zero Programme in the District.

4.

Investigation officer/SHO of the repective area of Punjab Police.

All the records will be maintained by the Investigation Officer/SHO, Punjab Police. A copy of the the

investigation report shall be submitted to the State Transport Commissioner and State Lead Agency for Road

Safety.
